SSG 08 | Dragonfire (Well-Worn)

Well-Worn (WW) is the cheapest of the five wears of this Covert Scout, the SSG 08 | Dragonfire. The wear band is 0.38 to 0.45, or 14% of the skin's scale, which runs to 0.50. Either side can use it, and it drops from the Glove Case.

What the SSG 08 | Dragonfire looks like in Well-Worn

The base is fiery orange with red streaks on the forend, the front of the receiver and the stock. Dark scales in black and turquoise tones run through the center, and a dragon's head reads among them. The barrel, muzzle brake, bipod and scope are black.

In Well-Worn the orange is scuffed along the edges of the forend and stock, and the black scales are grayer than on the cleaner wears. The artwork still reads in full, but the fire has lost its shine. Wear is recorded at the drop, and the listing does not change afterward.

What to check before buying

When choosing an SSG 08 | Dragonfire, pay attention to the following:

• float: in this wear it is a narrow band, 0.38 to 0.45, and copies barely differ from one another;


• how well the dragon's head has survived near the middle;


• whether the SSG 08 | Dragonfire carries stickers and a name tag.

The SSG 08 | Dragonfire has a fixed pattern, which is why the price does not depend on it.

What the SSG 08 | Dragonfire costs in Well-Worn

No wear of this skin is cheaper, and each of the others costs more:

• Battle-Scarred costs about a tenth more;


• Field-Tested costs about a fifth more;


• Minimal Wear costs about a third more;


• Factory New costs 1.7 times as much.

Battle-Scarred costs slightly more than Well-Worn, so the choice between those two comes down to how the listing looks, not the price.

Only two SSG 08 skins are Covert. In Factory New and in Minimal Wear the Dragonfire is priced about two and a half times above the SSG 08 | Blood in the Water.

Getting the SSG 08 | Dragonfire

Besides the Glove Case, there is the trade-up route: ten Classified skins from this collection yield the SSG 08 | Dragonfire. The Glove Collection came out in November 2016. The odds are one in two. Above this rank come only gloves, which are made by crafting.

StatTrak and Souvenir

StatTrak is available on the SSG 08 | Dragonfire. No Souvenir sets were issued for the finish, since tournament map collections alone received them. Yet a Souvenir copy can be made at home with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory. This is why individual Souvenir copies sometimes appear where no set ever existed.

Stickers and craft on the SSG 08 | Dragonfire

The scuffed orange is less aggressive than on the cleaner wears, so red and yellow stickers read better here. White and turquoise ones stay prominent against the black scales. In CS2 there is room near the stock and on the forend.

Who this wear suits

Well-Worn is worth buying for these reasons:

• you are after the lowest entry price among this skin's five wears;


• scuffing on the forend and stock does not bother you;


• the Covert Scout for CS2 is bought for the fire artwork, not for clean paint.
