SSG 08 | Green Ceramic (Minimal Wear)

The SSG 08 | Green Ceramic in Minimal Wear (MW) is a Consumer Grade sniper scout from The Boreal Collection, painted in shades of green. Its float band is short, 0.07 to 0.15, and the price matches Factory New. For a CS2 buyer that means no surcharge for factory-fresh paint.

What the SSG 08 | Green Ceramic looks like in Minimal Wear

There is no artwork here, only a fill in different shades of green. On the chassis and handguard the color is bright and dense. On the grip and stock it is quieter and shifts toward olive, while the barrel and muzzle brake are black. The scope is olive with a golden glint.

Minimal Wear covers a float of 0.07 to 0.15 on this skin. That is about eleven percent of a scale that ends at 0.75, so there is little scuffing to speak of. Wear is set when the skin drops and stays the same from then on.

Where the SSG 08 | Green Ceramic came from

The Boreal Collection was released on March 31, 2025, and the SSG 08 | Green Ceramic has been part of it from the first day. Valve painted this one in-house, and the Steam Workshop never had a submission for it. The item text calls the paint "different shades of green," which agrees with what the model shows.

What to check before buying

Listings of the SSG 08 | Green Ceramic differ in only a few ways:

• float: the closer to 0.07, the cleaner the fill;

• a name tag and stickers already applied, which stay with the listing;

• version: a copy like this has no StatTrak counter.

The 0.07 to 0.15 band is tight, and the copies at its two ends are told apart only by the number. The pattern is the same on every one of them.

What the SSG 08 | Green Ceramic costs in Minimal Wear

Prices across the wears group like this:

• Factory New and Field-Tested sit level with it, within three percent;

• Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are cheaper by a factor of about 1.4.

Factory New carries no premium on this scout, so Minimal Wear gives up nothing on price. The noticeable step down begins only at Well-Worn.

In this wear the skin sits near the bottom of the Consumer Grade SSG 08 row, and only SSG 08 | Sans Comic is cheaper. SSG 08 | Grey Smoke and SSG 08 | Blue Spruce cost the same. SSG 08 | Prey is a little dearer, and SSG 08 | Jungle Dashed several times dearer. The top of the row belongs to SSG 08 | Red Stone, SSG 08 | Lichen Dashed and SSG 08 | Sand Dune.

Getting the SSG 08 | Green Ceramic

No case drops this skin. The Boreal Collection is on the Weekly Care Package list, so the scout can arrive as a weekly reward.

A trade-up contract cannot produce it, because Consumer Grade is the bottom rank in The Boreal Collection. The scout itself can go in as an input, though. What comes out is a skin one rank higher, such as Dual Berettas | Polished Malachite or AK-47 | VariCamo Grey.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The SSG 08 | Green Ceramic has neither a StatTrak version nor a Souvenir package of its own. A souvenir copy can be made through the Souvenir-O-Matic.

Stickers and craft on the SSG 08 | Green Ceramic

A flat fill does not compete with a sticker for attention, so large logos and small lettering both read well on the chassis. The black barrel takes no stickers, which means all the action happens on the green part.

Who this wear suits

Minimal Wear is the right pick for the SSG 08 | Green Ceramic when:

• you want a scout with almost no scuffing at the Factory New price;

• the 0.07 to 0.15 float range matters to you;

• your stickers need a clean green base.
