In Field-Tested (FT), the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Ice Coaled sits in the middle of the scale and in the lower part of the Classified rank among StatTrak AK-47s. With a counter, this finish costs about twice as much as the regular version in the same wear. Floats run from 0.15 to 0.38.
What the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Ice Coaled looks like in Field-Tested
What defines the finish is the blue sweep on the side of the receiver. It runs from turquoise through cyan to a deep blue, with a white "AK" logo and a white dart-arrow near the rear edge. The second colored zone is an acid-green plate over the handguard, speckled dark; beneath it, on the lower handguard, sits a white "09". The stock is a pale gray-green with a black oval and another "AK". The magazine is black, with turquoise lines and a window where brass cartridges show through.
The ribs of the green plate give way first, then the edge of the receiver cover where the sweep breaks off. The white marks sit on flat surfaces and outlast the rest. The black body hides wear, so on this rifle the condition of a copy is judged by the green plate.
Where the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Ice Coaled came from
The Recoil Collection entered the game on July 1, 2022. The finish's number in the Valve catalog is 1143. An artist posting as REINCARNATION submitted it to the Steam Workshop under the title "AK47 ICE COALED", dated June 28, 2022. He kept the caption short: COG THINGS.
Valve's note on the update described the case as a set of seventeen works by community artists.
What to check before buying
Match these points when choosing a StatTrak™ AK-47 | Ice Coaled:
- the counter reading: the number passes to the buyer as it is, and it cannot be reset;
- the float: near the top of the wear the ribs of the plate are already light;
- a name tag and stickers that this StatTrak™ AK-47 | Ice Coaled already wears.
Every copy carries one and the same artwork, so rare examples do not exist. The 0.15 to 0.38 band leaves room to choose: the nearer to 0.15, the cleaner the copy.
What the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Ice Coaled costs in Field-Tested
Within the counter version itself, the wears sit as follows:
- Factory New runs to about three and a half times the price of this wear;
- Minimal Wear costs about twice as much;
- Well-Worn costs about a quarter more;
- Battle-Scarred costs about a seventh more.
So the more worn wears ask more: Battle-Scarred only slightly, Well-Worn noticeably, even though the plate is rubbed harder in them.
Among Classified StatTrak AK-47s, the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Ice Coaled is second from the bottom of eleven. Only StatTrak™ AK-47 | Searing Rage is cheaper, and StatTrak™ AK-47 | Phantom Disruptor sits right above it. StatTrak™ AK-47 | Red Laminate and StatTrak™ AK-47 | Case Hardened hold the top of the rank.
Getting the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Ice Coaled
The first route is the Recoil Case: when it is opened, the counter version drops in place of the regular one. The second is a trade-up, and for a counter all ten inputs must be StatTrak, because the game does not let you mix regular and StatTrak skins.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The same finish without a counter has its own page, and in Field-Tested it comes in at about half the price. The finish has a Souvenir release too, but it does not combine with a counter: the game issues no such items.
Stickers and craft on the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Ice Coaled
The black field on the body leaves enough room: the lower handguard, the grip, the trigger guard. In CS2 stickers go there so as not to cover the sweep on the side. Cold and light stickers read on black, while warm reds and oranges fight with the turquoise. A counter version also calls for a more careful build: the reading cannot be reset, and a sticker cannot be removed without a trace.
Who this wear suits
This wear of the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Ice Coaled fits for three reasons:
- you need a kill counter, not a display body;
- you want a Classified rank in CS2 with a counter at the lower bound of the price;
- within the wear there is something to choose from by float.
Toward 0.38 the green plate dulls, and its contrast with the black weakens. For an even look you pay extra from Minimal Wear on.
