Description

The StatTrak™ AWP | Duality in Field-Tested (FT) is the kill-counter version of the skin, and the cheapest of the Classified AWPs that carry a counter. This wear covers floats from 0.15 up to 0.38. The rifle drops from the Revolution Case, and the counter adds roughly two fifths to the price against the regular version.

What the StatTrak™ AWP | Duality looks like in Field-Tested

Paint covers only the receiver and the stock: a deep crimson-red with raspberry blotches and pale gray-white swirls. The barrel, scope, bipod and magazine are left as bare olive-brown metal, which makes the rifle look half painted. Valve's description speaks of two snakes, one red and one gold. On the model they read as mirrored swirls on either side of the receiver.

At this wear the paint is chipped along the edges. The corners of the stock, the cheek edge and the grip lose their coating, and metal shows along the boundary of the fill. The thin pale swirls go before the broad red fill does, simply because they are narrow lines.

Where the StatTrak™ AWP | Duality came from

The finish was made by Madara, who posted the Steam Workshop submission on August 21, 2021. He explained the idea this way. Two snakes emphasize the shape of the weapon, while the two sides stand for good and evil, day and night, and each viewer reads the meaning differently. He also mentioned wear on its own. By his plan, the gold parts were meant to turn to iron depending on the wear tier.

Valve released the Revolution Collection on February 9, 2023, and the StatTrak™ AWP | Duality has been in the set since launch. Valve's catalog number for the finish is 1222.

What to check before buying

A few points deserve a look before you buy the StatTrak™ AWP | Duality:

  • the counter reading, which passes to the buyer unchanged;

  • the float: at 0.38 the metal along the edge of the fill shows noticeably wider than at 0.15;

  • the name tag and stickers this StatTrak™ AWP | Duality already carries.

The artwork is identical on every copy, so no rare examples exist. Listings between 0.15 and 0.38 still differ noticeably in appearance.

The reading can be swapped with another rifle using the StatTrak Swap Tool, but only with an item of the same type. The second rifle gives up its own number in return.

What the StatTrak™ AWP | Duality costs in Field-Tested

The kill counter adds about two fifths to the price against the regular version in the same wear. The other counter versions sit as follows:

  • Factory New runs four and a half times higher;

  • Minimal Wear costs about double;

  • Well-Worn costs about two fifths more;

  • Battle-Scarred sits level with this wear.

The usual order breaks down here: Well-Worn is dearer than Field-Tested, and Battle-Scarred has caught up with it. That is a quirk of the counter version. On the regular one, Well-Worn costs the same as this wear and Battle-Scarred is cheaper.

Among Classified AWPs with a counter, the StatTrak™ AWP | Duality is the cheapest of nine. StatTrak™ AWP | Mortis comes next, at about one and a half times the price. After that, StatTrak™ AWP | Ice Coaled and StatTrak™ AWP | Fever Dream cost more than four times as much. The top of the row belongs to StatTrak™ AWP | Electric Hive, StatTrak™ AWP | Redline and StatTrak™ AWP | BOOM.

Getting the StatTrak™ AWP | Duality

The Revolution Case hands out the counter version in place of the regular one, so there is no separate case for it.

A trade-up is possible too, but all ten inputs must be StatTrak, because the game does not allow normal and StatTrak skins to mix. The Revolution Collection has three Classified skins, which puts the odds of landing this AWP at one in three.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The regular AWP | Duality without a counter is a separate item with its own page and price, and in Field-Tested it is noticeably cheaper. A Souvenir version with a counter does not exist: the game has no StatTrak souvenir items.

Stickers and craft on the StatTrak™ AWP | Duality

Stickers go on the painted part, since the barrel and magazine are bare. Red and gold stickers match the tone of the fill, black and white ones contrast against the crimson, and blue and green ones fight with the background. On a counter version, settle the build in advance: the reading cannot be reset.

Who this wear suits

Buying the StatTrak™ AWP | Duality here, in Field-Tested, makes sense in these cases:

  • you want a kill counter on a Classified AWP for CS2 at the lowest price among such versions;

  • you prefer red paint with bare metal to a full-coverage pattern;

  • you plan a craft in CS2 where a dark fill lets contrasting stickers stand out.

For untouched paint along the edges, Factory New is the one to take, and it asks four and a half times more.
