The StatTrak™ AWP | Mortis in Field-Tested (FT) is the kill-counter version, second from the bottom by price among Classified AWPs with the counter. It drops from the Clutch Case. The counter raises the price by almost double against the regular version.
What the StatTrak™ AWP | Mortis looks like in Field-Tested
The barrel and scope tube are dark, nearly black, with a brownish tinge. Coral details are picked out on the small parts: the muzzle collar, the scope rings and the bipod. A golden-bronze pattern with gear-like circles lies on the side of the receiver, and rust-orange diamonds run across the dark field of the handguard. The stock is olive khaki with coral spots.
For this wear the StatTrak™ AWP | Mortis is allotted floats 0.15 to 0.38. The gold ornament on the side of the receiver is the largest element of the design, while the coral is gathered on small parts. Wear is set at the drop and does not change over time.
Where the StatTrak™ AWP | Mortis came from
The submission "AWP | Death" was posted to the Steam Workshop by the author Oni on April 25, 2017, while the catalog lists Zaphk as the finish's designer. In the author's words, the first Tarot series is six cards on five weapons. The Fool went to the P90, The Empress to the AK-47, and Death, numbered XIII, to this rifle. The Moon and The Sun went to the Dual Berettas, and Judgement to the Desert Eagle. He meant to release the whole deck of Major Arcana, twenty-two cards.
The Clutch Collection came out on February 14, 2018, and the skin has been in the set since release. In Valve's catalog the finish is number 691. Valve's description adds a line saying that every end means a new beginning.
What to check before buying
Before taking the StatTrak™ AWP | Mortis, look at these points:
- the counter reading: it stays on the copy and changes only a number, not how the rifle looks;
- the float: a lower number means a cleaner copy, and lots within the band are worth comparing with one another;
- the stickers and name tag already on this copy of the StatTrak™ AWP | Mortis.
You do not pick this skin by pattern, since it is identical on every lot. Between 0.15 and 0.38 there is enough difference to make comparing several lots worthwhile.
What the StatTrak™ AWP | Mortis costs in Field-Tested
The counter adds almost double to the price against the regular version in the same wear. The neighboring wears with the counter stand against this one as follows:
- Factory New comes to almost three times the price;
- Minimal Wear comes to one and a half times the price;
- Well-Worn likewise comes to one and a half times;
- Battle-Scarred adds about a fifth.
The order at the bottom is broken: the lower wears with the counter cost more than Field-Tested. For the regular version, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are priced almost level with this wear.
Among Classified AWPs with the counter, only StatTrak™ AWP | Duality costs less. StatTrak™ AWP | Ice Coaled costs about two and a half times as much, and StatTrak™ AWP | Fever Dream three times.
StatTrak™ AWP | Redline and StatTrak™ AWP | BOOM cost an order of magnitude more, or beyond. Within the Clutch Collection, only StatTrak™ AUG | Stymphalian costs less with the counter.
Getting the StatTrak™ AWP | Mortis
The counter version drops from the same Clutch Case as the regular skin. There is no separate case for it.
A trade-up into the StatTrak™ AWP | Mortis consists of ten skins of the rank below from one collection, and all ten must carry the counter. The Clutch Collection has three Classified skins, so the chance at this AWP is one in three.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The regular AWP | Mortis without the counter is a separate product with its own market address and its own price, and in Field-Tested it costs almost half as much. A Souvenir release does not combine with the counter: no Souvenir items with StatTrak exist in the game.
Stickers and craft on the StatTrak™ AWP | Mortis
The dark body makes light stickers stand out. Coral and gold ones echo the small parts and the ornament, while cold blues clash with them. The side with the ornament is taken, and the stock and handguard are free.
Who this wear suits
Buying the StatTrak™ AWP | Mortis in Field-Tested makes sense under these conditions:
- you want a kill counter on a dark AWP for CS2 at a price below most Classified AWPs;
- for CS2 you want a dark base for bright stickers.
For clean paint you have to take Factory New: with the counter it costs almost three times as much.
