Description

Well-Worn (WW) barely shows on the Tec-9 | Blue Blast: the dark turquoise base swallows wear, and a listing photo hardly registers it. The wear band runs from 0.38 to 0.45. The rank is Consumer Grade, and the finish belongs to The Ascent Collection.

What the Tec-9 | Blue Blast looks like in Well-Worn

Frame and barrel shroud are painted a dark turquoise that verges on emerald. The magazine breaks the scheme in olive green. Grip and trigger group stay black and factory. Small pale blue dots are scattered over the body, some around the ejection port, some on the side. The holes in the shroud are picked out along their rims. There is no artwork at all: the finish lives on turquoise, olive and black.

In Well-Worn the shroud rim around the holes lightens first, then the top of the frame. The dark base works in the buyer's favor: scuffing mutes the color instead of bleaching it, so the gap to cleaner grades shows only up close. The olive magazine and black grip give almost nothing away, and the pale blue dots stay legible across the whole run.

Where the Tec-9 | Blue Blast came from

This one is Valve's own work, with no Workshop submission behind it. The Ascent Collection entered the game on March 31, 2025. The update note that day added three collections to the weekly care package: Ascent, Boreal and Radiant. By the same note they carry more than 70 finishes between them. In Valve's catalog the item is number 1279.

What to check before buying

Worth a look before paying for a Tec-9 | Blue Blast:

  • the float inside 0.38 to 0.45, since the shroud rim pales more toward the upper edge;

  • a name tag and stickers, which stay on the Tec-9 | Blue Blast when it changes hands;

  • whether the copy is plain or Souvenir, as Souvenirs are priced on their own.

Copies differ by wear and nothing else, since they share one layout. Buying here can be almost blind, because the band is tight.

What the Tec-9 | Blue Blast costs in Well-Worn

All five wears of this finish trade for cents, and the usual order breaks down. Measured against Well-Worn, the rest line up like this:

  • Factory New is about half as much;

  • Minimal Wear is formally more than ten times cheaper;

  • Field-Tested costs nearly a third less;

  • Battle-Scarred is about half.

None of that is a pattern. A tenfold gap to Minimal Wear amounts to a couple of cents, and that order rests on single sellers rather than on demand for any one grade. It is no basis for a choice.

Among Consumer Grade Tec-9 finishes this one ranks second by price in the wear, out of six. Only Tec-9 | Phoenix Chalk sits higher, and it does so by a hundredfold. Tec-9 | Urban DDPAT is immediately below, followed by Tec-9 | Army Mesh and Tec-9 | Groundwater.

Getting the Tec-9 | Blue Blast

No case drops this skin. The Ascent Collection comes through the weekly care package, and that is how the finish reaches an inventory.

A contract cannot produce Consumer Grade, because nothing in the collection sits below it. The finish does serve as an input, though: ten Consumer Grade skins from the set return one Industrial Grade skin.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the Tec-9 | Blue Blast

No StatTrak version of the Tec-9 | Blue Blast was ever released. Souvenir copies do turn up, but no Souvenir packages were made for this finish: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

Sticker space is generous: the frame is flat and carries no artwork. The dark turquoise ground mutes blue and green stickers, while white, yellow and red hold up on it. Only a cheap craft makes sense here, since the finish will never be worth more than what goes on it.

Who this wear suits

This wear of the Tec-9 | Blue Blast earns its place when:

  • a turquoise Tec-9 for CS2 is the point and the state of the edges is not;

  • the pistol is headed for matches, where it will be dropped every round;

  • a cold-colored loadout is coming together and only the shade matters.

Choose between wears by the label on the listing rather than by price: on a base this dark the difference barely shows.
