The Tec-9 | Whiteout in Field-Tested (FT) sits mid-scale, where the white fill still holds but the edges have already darkened. Its float band is 0.15 to 0.38. The rank is Restricted, and the skin belongs to The Train 2025 Collection.
What the Tec-9 | Whiteout looks like in Field-Tested
The pistol is painted a single color: the barrel shroud, the receiver, the grip and the long magazine are covered in solid paint with no artwork. The shade is warm, closer to cream than to snow. Only the slots in the shroud, the front sight, the trigger and the muzzle are left dark. A small stamped marking reads on the receiver, and there is knurling on the grip.
Valve's description says the pistol was sprayed white from a can and looks clean, though its looks are not to be trusted. In Field-Tested that cleanliness is already gone. At the edges of the shroud around the slots and on the grip bevels the paint grays, and spots show on the receiver planes. With no artwork, every scuff stands out.
Where the Tec-9 | Whiteout came from
The Tec-9 | Whiteout appeared on March 31, 2025, when The Train 2025 Collection was added to the game. Valve mentioned the set in a single line of the changelog, with no announcement of its own.
The collection was offered in the Armory, but on July 8, 2026 Valve removed the Train 2025 and Sport & Field sets from there.
What to check before buying
Before taking a Tec-9 | Whiteout, look at these points:
- the float: at 0.15 the paint on the edges is still light, at 0.38 it is gray;
- the edges of the slots on the barrel shroud, where the scuffing starts;
- the stickers and name tag already on this copy of the Tec-9 | Whiteout.
Two different patterns of the Tec-9 | Whiteout do not exist. In this wear both 0.15 and 0.38 fit, and such listings look different.
What the Tec-9 | Whiteout costs in Field-Tested
The other wears compare with this one as follows:
- Factory New costs about sixty-six times as much;
- Minimal Wear costs almost six times as much;
- Well-Worn is cheaper by more than a third;
- Battle-Scarred costs nearly half.
The scale explains the gap at the top. The finish starts at float 0.06, so Factory New gets only the strip from 0.06 to 0.07, one hundredth of the whole scale. Field-Tested takes almost a quarter.
Among Restricted Tec-9 skins in this wear, the finish is sixth of eight from the bottom. Tec-9 | Avalanche and Tec-9 | Re-Entry are cheaper, and Tec-9 | Bamboozle, Tec-9 | Brother and Tec-9 | Red Quartz noticeably so. Only two stand above it: Tec-9 | Titanium Bit costs over three times as much, and Tec-9 | Nuclear Threat more than twenty times.
Getting the Tec-9 | Whiteout
The Tec-9 | Whiteout is not in ordinary cases. Souvenir copies came in the tournament packages Austin 2025 Train Souvenir Package and Budapest 2025 Train Souvenir Package.
In a contract, ten skins one rank lower from this collection turn into the Tec-9 | Whiteout. The collection has four Mil-Spec skins and three Restricted, so the chance is one in three. Ten Restricted skins from the collection give one Classified: M4A4 | Hellish or MP9 | Latte Rush.
StatTrak and Souvenir
There is no StatTrak version of the Tec-9 | Whiteout, but a Souvenir edition exists: the finish is part of the Austin 2025 and Budapest 2025 tournament packages.
Stickers and craft on the Tec-9 | Whiteout
A clean white field with no artwork is a handy base for a craft in CS2. Dark and saturated stickers show whole on it, while white and light gray ones vanish. There are few places to put them: the grip sides and the receiver. In Field-Tested a sticker is best kept off the edges, where the paint is already graying.
Who this wear suits
The Tec-9 | Whiteout in Field-Tested makes sense if:
- you want a white pistol with no artwork and no surcharge for the factory look;
- paying more than sixty times as much for Factory New is pointless to you;
- the Tec-9 goes into CS2 matches, where scuffing on the edges cannot be made out.
Should the spots on the white bother you, Minimal Wear remains. It costs almost six times as much, though its edges are cleaner.
