The USP-S | Blueprint in Field-Tested (FT) is a blue USP-S ruled with a grid, like a sheet of blueprints. It is Mil-Spec rank, from The Operation Hydra Collection, and the skin drops from the Operation Hydra Case. For CS2 it can be bought in any of five wears, from Factory New to Battle-Scarred.
What the USP-S | Blueprint looks like in Field-Tested
The suppressor, frame and grip are covered in dark blue paint with a fine light-blue grid, which is how a technical drawing looks. The slide stays dark, almost black. Valve describes the skin as hand-painted in a blue theme, in the style of an architect's blueprint.
Field-Tested here spans floats from 0.15 to 0.38, against a ceiling of 0.86 for the skin as a whole, so these 0.23 make up 27% of its scale. Wear is set when the skin drops and does not change afterward.
Where the USP-S | Blueprint came from
The author of the finish is Graff. He named his Steam Workshop submission "USP-S | BLUEPRINT" and posted it on January 11, 2017. The submission has no text description, so the idea is not recorded in the author's words.
The skin was released on May 23, 2017. Its number in Valve's catalog is 657.
What to check before buying
Before you take the USP-S | Blueprint, look at these points:
- the float: the closer to 0.38, the more paint is gone from the edges;
- the name tag and stickers this USP-S | Blueprint already carries;
- the version: a listing without a counter and a StatTrak™ variant are sold as different items.
The artwork on the USP-S | Blueprint is rigid and does not depend on the copy. In this wear the band is long, 0.15 to 0.38, so comparing several listings is worthwhile.
What the USP-S | Blueprint costs in Field-Tested
Across the wears, the price is laid out like this:
- Factory New runs to more than twenty times the price;
- Minimal Wear is two and a half times the price;
- Well-Worn costs almost the same as this wear;
- Battle-Scarred costs about a sixth less.
The Factory New band for this skin is 0.00 to 0.07, which is 8% of the scale. Among Mil-Spec USP-Ss in Field-Tested only Stainless and Business Class cost more.
Getting the USP-S | Blueprint
The skin drops from the Operation Hydra Case. A trade-up cannot produce it: Mil-Spec is the lowest rank in this collection, and a contract returns a rank above what goes in.
The USP-S | Blueprint itself does work as an input, though. Ten Mil-Spec skins from the set give one Restricted, for example AK-47 | Orbit Mk01 or SSG 08 | Death's Head.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The USP-S | Blueprint has a StatTrak™ version. Souvenir copies of the finish exist too, but no packages were released for it: they were made only for the map collections of tournaments. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory.
Stickers and craft on the USP-S | Blueprint
A dark blue base with a thin grid neither argues with stickers nor sets them off. White, yellow and red ones read best, while blue and light-blue ones merge with the lines of the drawing.
Who this wear suits
Buying the USP-S | Blueprint in Field-Tested makes sense if at least one of these fits:
- you want a blue USP-S with a drafting grid, without paying extra for Factory New;
- a price level with Well-Worn suits you, though it sits above Battle-Scarred;
- you are putting together a loadout in blue shades for CS2.
