Battle-Scarred (BS) is the roughest wear of the USP-S | Kill Confirmed: a red-painted pistol with a skull, rubbed harder than in any other wear. The float band runs 0.45–1.00. This is a Covert USP-S from The Shadow Collection, and it comes in all five wears in CS2.
What the USP-S | Kill Confirmed looks like in Battle-Scarred
The grip, frame and slide are red with dark burgundy blotches. The skull sits at the tail of the slide by the rear sight: white with gray shadows and an eye socket burning orange. The suppressor is dark brown, with a gold-cream ribbon winding around it, and a golden shell casing is painted at its base. The suppressor tip, the trigger and the small controls are left bare.
In Valve's wording, the picture is a bullet breaking a skull apart. The item's caption reads "2 in the chest, 1 in the head." Battle-Scarred rubs out the ribbon's fine gold linework first, followed by the pale rim around the skull. The broad red planes hold on longer. Wear is fixed at the drop.
Where the USP-S | Kill Confirmed came from
The designer is Nick. The Steam Workshop submission, "USP-S | Kill Confirmed", appeared under the name Nicolas in early September 2015. The skin itself arrived in September 2015, when the collection built around the Shadow Case was added to the game. Its catalog number in Valve's files is 504.
What to check before buying
A few things matter when you pick a listing:
- Float: the 0.45–1.00 band covers 55% of the skin's scale;
- The gold ribbon on the suppressor and the outline of the skull, which near the top of the band are already worn away;
- Whatever the previous owner left on the pistol, meaning stickers and an applied name tag.
Every copy carries the same pattern, so only the float sets copies apart. The 0.45–1.00 stretch is long, though, and the copies at either end look noticeably different.
What the USP-S | Kill Confirmed costs in Battle-Scarred
The other wears cost more than Battle-Scarred by these ratios:
- Factory New, 4.14 times;
- Minimal Wear, 1.82 times;
- Field-Tested, 1.27 times;
- Well-Worn, level, with a gap of under three percent.
Factory New stands out most: it costs about four times the bottom wear. There are only four Covert USP-S skins, and in Battle-Scarred this one is second by price. Only the USP-S | Neo-Noir is above it, at nearly double. Below it sit the USP-S | Printstream and the USP-S | The Traitor, each at about half the price.
Getting the USP-S | Kill Confirmed
The skin drops from the Shadow Case, and no other case carries this finish.
A trade-up yields it too: ten skins one rank lower from a single collection go into the contract. The collection has two Covert skins, so the pistol comes out in one case of two. This Covert skin is itself an input for the Shadow Daggers craft.
StatTrak and Souvenir
A StatTrak version of the USP-S | Kill Confirmed exists. No souvenir package ever carried this finish, but you can build a souvenir copy through the Souvenir-O-Matic. It adds gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to a regular skin from your inventory.
Stickers and craft on the USP-S | Kill Confirmed
The red base and the large skull leave little room for stickers. White and light ones read best on the red, while yellow ones fight the gold ribbon on the suppressor. The skull at the tail of the slide is better left uncovered.
Who this wear suits
Battle-Scarred is worth buying on the USP-S | Kill Confirmed when:
- you want a Covert USP-S at the lowest price among its wears;
- the skull needs to stay readable and the worn-off gold lines don't matter;
- the pistol is headed for CS2, where wear has no effect on shooting.
