Description

★ Bayonet | Damascus Steel in Field-Tested (FT) is a light blade with a dark wavy pattern, like wootz steel. It is Covert rank, with the ★ mark, and in CS2 this bayonet drops from three Chroma cases. The finish has five wears, the float runs from 0.00 to 0.50, and Field-Tested takes up 46 percent of that scale.

What the ★ Bayonet | Damascus Steel looks like in Field-Tested

The blade is silver-gray, with dark swirls spreading across the flat like tree rings. A long groove is cut along the spine, and a small hole sits near the point. The handle is pale olive-yellow with ribbing, and the guard is light gray. Valve notes that the knife has parts made of Damascus steel.

Scratches on a bayonet settle first on the point and the cutting edge. In Field-Tested they are already visible but not continuous. The wear is fixed at the drop, so the knife stays in the condition in which it came out.

What to check before buying

In a ★ Bayonet | Damascus Steel lot, these are the parameters to check:

  • float: the band from 0.15 to 0.38 is long, and lots from its two edges differ noticeably;

  • name tag: the knife takes a name tag but no stickers, so the name and the wear are what to look at;

  • the wear in the lot title: Factory New (FN) and Minimal Wear (MW) are listed as separate lots and cost more.

What the ★ Bayonet | Damascus Steel costs in Field-Tested

This is the cheapest wear of the finish. Minimal Wear costs about 15 percent more, Factory New about a third more, and Well-Worn (WW) and Battle-Scarred (BS) a little over 20 percent more.

Among Covert bayonets the finish stands in the middle of the row. Freehand and Black Laminate are almost level with it, while Bright Water and Ultraviolet are cheaper. The priciest are Case Hardened, Autotronic and Slaughter, and the cheapest are Boreal Forest, Scorched and Forest DDPAT.

Getting the ★ Bayonet | Damascus Steel

The ★ Bayonet | Damascus Steel comes from the Chroma Case, the Chroma 2 Case and the Chroma 3 Case, and the wear is random. The other route is a trade-up contract: five Covert skins from one collection merge into a single rare special item, though the model and the finish cannot be assigned.

Is there a StatTrak version

A StatTrak version of the ★ Bayonet | Damascus Steel exists in the game.

Who this wear suits

Buying the ★ Bayonet | Damascus Steel in this wear is worth it if:

  • you want a light blade with a Damascus steel pattern at the lowest price of the five wears;

  • you pick the float by hand: inside 0.15 to 0.38 there are lots with less wear and lots with more;

  • you are building a CS2 loadout dominated by gray and steel tones.
