The blade is broad with a sharp tip, the color of dull silver with a purplish cast. It is covered in small rust-orange and brown spots, and the fitting at the base of the blade is rusty too. The handle is gray metal, with black plastic inserts that carry a fine checkered texture.

Rust is part of the finish itself: Valve describes the knife as a working one with a rusted surface. The wear of Battle-Scarred lies on top of it and is fixed at the drop, and it does not change afterward.
