★ Specialist Gloves | Fade in Field-Tested (FT): a blue-purple pair with a pink-red stripe across the hand and orange-copper metallic inserts. Extraordinary rank, with the star. The finish comes from two cases, the Clutch Case and the Revolution Case. Its float is stretched from 0.06 to 0.80, and the band for this wear takes 0.23 of that 0.74, about a third of the scale.
What the ★ Specialist Gloves | Fade look like in Field-Tested
The back of the hand is blue-gray with a fine mesh texture. A glossy pink-red stripe runs across it, and the stripe's ends and the finger pads shade into orange copper. The cuff and sides are dark blue with a purple cast, and the palm is gray-black. Valve describes the pair as multicolored, with metallic accents. The tones are cool: there is no orange field here of the kind the weapon Fade has.
On gloves, wear reads as scuffing of the fabric and leather at the finger creases and along the edges of the pads, not as scratches. This wear carries a float of 0.15 to 0.38. The degree of wear is set at drop and does not change over time.
Where the ★ Specialist Gloves | Fade came from
The Clutch Case was the first case for this finish. Valve released the Revolution Case on February 10, 2023, and its release notes say the gloves from the Clutch Case turn up there as rare special items. In the item description Valve calls the pair tough, breathable and stylish, built to take a hit and give one back.
What to check before buying
These things set one ★ Specialist Gloves | Fade listing apart from another:
- the band from 0.15 to 0.38 leaves some room to choose, and pairs closer to 0.15 are cleaner;
- the pink-red stripe and the copper inserts, where the condition of the paint is visible in the listing screenshot;
- the wear in the listing title: Factory New costs ten times as much, and Minimal Wear almost three times as much.
What the ★ Specialist Gloves | Fade cost in Field-Tested
Of the nineteen Specialist Gloves finishes priced in this wear, Fade is eleventh from the top: ten cost more and eight cost less. Marble Fade is cheaper by about a fifth and Crimson Web by a quarter. The most affordable in the model are Buckshot, Mogul and Lt. Commander, while the top of the list belongs to Crimson Kimono, Emerald Web and Foundation.
Fade's ladder across the wears looks like this:
- Factory New is ten times dearer;
- Minimal Wear is 2.7 times dearer;
- Well-Worn is cheaper by a factor of 1.15;
- Battle-Scarred is cheaper by a factor of 1.4.
Getting the ★ Specialist Gloves | Fade
There are two routes. The first is the Clutch Case and the Revolution Case: the gloves sit in them as a rare special item, and the wear that drops is random. The second is a trade-up contract, where five Covert skins from one collection are exchanged for one rare special item. Neither the model nor the finish can be chosen there, so a pair in the wear you want is bought as a ready listing.
Who this wear suits
Buying the ★ Specialist Gloves | Fade in this very wear makes sense if:
- you want a pair in a blue-and-pink palette for a CS2 loadout, and scuffs at the finger creases do not bother you;
- price matters, since Factory New would cost ten times as much;
- you want a finish from the middle of the Specialist Gloves list.
