The ★ Specialist Gloves | Lt. Commander in Field-Tested (FT) are a light pair with gray-blue camouflage and yellow outlining. Their rank is Extraordinary, with the star, and in CS2 the pair comes out of cases. The finish has five wears on a float scale that runs from 0.06 to 0.80, and Field-Tested takes almost a third of that length.
What the ★ Specialist Gloves | Lt. Commander look like in Field-Tested
The back of the hand and the cuff are light: gray and pale blue patches add up to a fine digital camouflage. The plates on the knuckles and fingers are outlined in yellow. The palm and fingertips are sandy brown, like leather.
On gloves, wear shows less as scratches than as marks on the fabric and leather at the finger joints. It is fixed when the pair drops, and the gloves stay in whatever state they dropped in.
Where the ★ Specialist Gloves | Lt. Commander came from
The first source was the Operation Broken Fang Case, and Valve launched the operation on December 3, 2020. The same finish later joined the Snakebite Case. On July 4, 2022 Valve announced that the Recoil Case holds Broken Fang gloves as rare special items.
What to check before buying
When picking a listing, the ★ Specialist Gloves | Lt. Commander are judged on two points:
- float: Field-Tested holds both 0.15 and 0.38, and pairs at those two ends look different;
- the wear in the name: Factory New (FN) costs several times more, while Well-Worn (WW) and Battle-Scarred (BS) are cheaper.
What the ★ Specialist Gloves | Lt. Commander cost in Field-Tested
Factory New runs almost seven times higher, and Minimal Wear (MW) almost double. Well-Worn is about 5% cheaper, and Battle-Scarred about 15%.
Among Specialist Gloves finishes in this wear, this one is third from the bottom by price. Chocolate Chesterfield is level with it, Mogul is only slightly cheaper, and Buckshot costs about half as much. At the top of the row are Crimson Kimono, Emerald Web and Foundation.
Getting the ★ Specialist Gloves | Lt. Commander
The gloves drop from three cases: Operation Broken Fang, Snakebite and Recoil. The wear at drop is random. A contract works too, since five Covert skins from one collection give one rare special item, but you cannot choose the gloves or the finish in it.
Who this wear suits
Buying the ★ Specialist Gloves | Lt. Commander in Field-Tested makes sense if:
- you want a light pair. The hands are in view every round, while the knife is in frame mostly during inspection, and gloves are paid for on that visibility;
- your CS2 loadout is built in gray-blue tones and the yellow outlining works as an accent;
- you want a lower price than Minimal Wear and Factory New, and you are happy to pick the float inside 0.15 to 0.38.
