★ Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box (Field-Tested)

★ Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box in Field-Tested (FT): a violet pair with a dark mesh insert, second by price among Sport Gloves. Extraordinary rank, with the star. The gloves drop from the Glove Case and the Operation Hydra Case. The wear scale starts at 0.06, and Factory New takes only a narrow band of it.

What the ★ Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box look like in Field-Tested

On the cuff and fingers the color is a bright violet. The back insert is covered with dark cellular fabric, nearly black with a lilac cast, crossed by turquoise-gray stripes. On the palm side the violet turns into a blue and pale blue marbled wash with black spots. Valve calls the pair black-and-violet and writes of a subtle pattern printed on the palms.

The ★ Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box are assigned a float of 0.15 to 0.38 in this wear. Scuffing shows at the finger folds, the knuckles and the edge of the cuff rather than as scratches. Wear is fixed at drop, and after that a listing stays as it is.

Where the ★ Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box came from

Valve drew the ★ Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box itself, and the Steam Workshop has no submission for this finish. It was released on November 28, 2016, with the Glove Case. In 2017 the same gloves went into the Operation Hydra Case. In Valve's catalog of finishes this one is number 10037.

Phase and pattern

Gloves have no phases or gems, so there is no variant to choose between in the name. Copies do differ, but the spread is small and falls on the palm side: the pattern index shifts how the texture is laid over the palm. Pattern references state outright that the finish has no rare variations. There is no premium for a pattern number here, and the price of a listing is set by wear and float.

What to check before buying

In a ★ Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box listing, check these parameters:

• search by the number, not by the wear label, because the band from 0.15 to 0.38 is wide;

• the palm side in the screenshot, since that is where copies differ in texture;

• the wear named in the listing: Minimal Wear costs one and a half times as much as this wear, and Factory New seven and a half times.

What the ★ Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box cost in Field-Tested

Among the nineteen Sport Gloves finishes with a price in this wear, Pandora's Box is second. Only Hedge Maze stands above it, costing about a tenth more. Superconductor costs half as much as Pandora's Box, and Nocts almost six times less. Arid and Ultra Violent cost almost four times less.

Between the wears the layout is this:

• Factory New costs seven and a half times as much;

• Minimal Wear is priced at one and a half times this wear;

• Well-Worn is cheaper by about a sixth;

• Battle-Scarred is cheaper by 1.7 times.

Getting the ★ Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box

There are two cases, the Glove Case and the Operation Hydra Case, and in each the pair lies as a rare special item. Wear and pattern number come out random on opening. That leaves the trade-up: five Covert skins of one collection exchange for a rare special item, but the result is not known in advance. The wear you want has to be bought as a finished listing.

Who this wear suits

The ★ Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box in Field-Tested make sense under these conditions:

• a CS2 loadout is put together in a violet-and-blue palette;

• you want the second line of the price row without paying seven and a half times more for Factory New;

• the palm texture differs between copies, and it does not affect the price.
