What the ★ StatTrak™ Butterfly Knife | Lore looks like in Field-Tested
The butterfly's blade is flooded with gold, and a Celtic weave of small knots runs along the spine. The handles are olive green, with amber-brown inserts in a marbled pattern; the latch is gold.
In Field-Tested the gilding on the blade has gone matte, and scuffs show on the edge and on the ribs of the handles. Wear is fixed at drop. By float, this wear of the ★ StatTrak™ Butterfly Knife | Lore covers 0.15 to 0.38. Choose inside that band: the difference between its top and its bottom is easy to see.
Where the ★ StatTrak™ Butterfly Knife | Lore came from
The Operation Riptide Case, one source of this finish, arrived with the operation Valve presented on September 22, 2021. The finish was later added to the Dreams & Nightmares Case as well.
What to check before buying
Listings of the ★ StatTrak™ Butterfly Knife | Lore are compared on these points:
- float: the closer to 0.15, the lighter the gold on the blade;
- kill counter: the number on the Lore finish passes to the buyer as it is and is not reset;
- applied name: a name tag is possible on the Lore finish too, and it stays on the item after the purchase.

Getting the ★ StatTrak™ Butterfly Knife | Lore
In CS2 the knife comes from the Operation Riptide Case and the Dreams & Nightmares Case, and the wear of a copy is decided at drop. For the StatTrak version there is only one exchange. Five Covert StatTrak skins of one type give a random rare special item from the collections of the skins you put in. Skins without StatTrak cannot be mixed in, and the exact finish cannot be ordered.
StatTrak and the normal version
This page covers the StatTrak version. The normal Butterfly Knife | Lore is sold as a separate product; if you do not need the kill counter, that is where to go.
