How Crimson Witness Items Were Handed Out

Shadow of the Dark Age of the Crimson Witness is the tournament version of Night Stalker's Immortal claws in the arms slot. The model matches the ordinary item, and the three-figure price exists because these copies were never sold — they were given to people watching The International.

What Changes on Night Stalker

Treasures in the series dropped to part of the audience watching the tournament broadcast at the moment first blood was drawn on stage. There was no way to buy in.

Inside were special variants of Immortals already in the game: the same geometry, effects recoloured red, extra words at the end of the name.

Once the tournament ended the source shut for good. From that point the number of copies only falls, as some settle into inventories nobody opens again.

Three Versions of the Same Claws

The arms slot on Balanar is his claws, the ones he tears people apart with at melee range. This item redraws them.

His base model, his wings and the presentation of his abilities stay standard, because an Immortal operates inside a single slot.

The hero is usually right in the middle of things — Night Stalker dives into fights after dark and swings at close range, so his hands are in frame regularly.

Night is a mechanic in its own right for him: once it falls he sees further, moves faster and starts hunting. Those are the stretches of a match when people watch him, and the claws work in them.

None of this affects how strong he is. Neither Crippling Fear nor Darkness cares about the contents of an inventory.

What It Costs and What Justifies That

Besides the tournament one there is an ordinary version and a golden variant. The silhouette is shared; textures and particles are not.

The plain copy costs an incomparably smaller sum and looks nearly the same in a fight. For most players that settles it.

The red version is bought for provenance rather than for appearance, and that is worth saying out loud before a three-figure payment.

Trios like this exist on a lot of popular heroes: the base piece, a golden pull from the same treasure, and a tournament recolour over the top.

Who It Makes Sense For

A three-figure price, the upper segment of the catalogue and comparable with arcanas. The working value is always in the card above.

It rests entirely on scarcity: no new copies appear, and collectors of tournament series keep the demand side warm.

Liquidity is low. Pieces like this take a while to move, so buy to keep rather than to flip.

On LIS-SKINS the figure usually undercuts Valve's store, and on a three-figure purchase that difference stops being symbolic.

Where to Buy Shadow of the Dark Age of the Crimson Witness

Collectors who assemble items from The International: the Crimson Witness series is among the most recognisable tournament markers in the game.

Night Stalker players for whom a visible detail in the hands is worth this kind of money.

For everyone else the honest recommendation is the ordinary claws. Very few people read the difference mid-fight, and the saving is enormous.

On LIS-SKINS the item is available from this page: Steam authorisation, choose an offer, pay by card, cryptocurrency or e-wallet.

The claws arrive in your Steam inventory, and the option to put them back up for real money stays open there.

Read the whole name before paying. The ordinary claws and the tournament version are separated by a four-word tail and a very large difference in money.
