The Story Behind the Name

The slot is given as Mount, and that is the twist: the hero gains a way of getting around instead of trudging across the map.

Techies is the rare case of one hero being three characters at once, all visible all match. Any change to that silhouette stands out more than it would elsewhere.

The arcana was sold as a bundle in its day, with extra pieces of the look alongside the mount; those turn up as separate pages in the catalogue.

The hero himself is built around mines and delayed damage, so he is on screen less often than most — and almost always in the loudest moments of a match.

By the in-game text, Techies Demolitions spent months building the most powerful cannon ever designed and called it the Swine.

Its first frantic firing aboard a homebound galley tore the ship apart and launched the cannon backwards toward the shore, where it was found days later buried in a cliff face.

It is a very on-brand story: enormous ambition, devastating result, mostly for the people standing nearby.

The figure is double digits, somewhere between $20 and $50. Set against other arcanas that is restrained — plenty of them ask considerably more.

The reason is the hero. Techies occupies a narrow niche, gets picked rarely, and has fewer cosmetic buyers than a popular carry.
