What It Goes On

Whiteout Vest is a winter finish for the Road Sign Jacket, the scrap-metal chest piece that every Rust player wears once they reach metal. The white treatment solves a specific problem: on the snow biome ordinary rusted armour is visible from a long way off, and this is not.

Why a White Chest Piece

The finish applies to the Road Sign Jacket — the improvised cuirass cut out of road signs. It is the mainstay chest armour of the mid game, and most players spend more hours in it than in any garment.

Protection is untouched. The jacket absorbs the same hits, repairs for the same cost, and because Rust has no wear grades the white never yellows or degrades over a wipe.

You can apply the skin on craft or later at a repair bench. The finish itself does not leave your account: the jacket will be stripped off your body sooner or later, and the skin stays in your Steam inventory for the next one.

The Whiteout Line

Snow is the one biome in Rust where standard gear lights you up on its own. Rusted metal against white ground is visible at a distance where you have not spotted anybody yet.

The torso is the biggest part of a player's outline, and it is what resolves a shape into a target before a face is readable. A white cuirass breaks that outline exactly where it matters most.

The effect is strictly local, though. On grass and under trees white armour does the reverse, and a player in full snow kit moving through forest is the easiest shot on the server.

What Whiteout Vest Costs

Whiteout is not a one-off finish but a line that runs across armour and clothing together, with the vest as one piece of it. The neighbouring items are easy to find on LIS-SKINS by searching the same word.

A completed set reads as one thing from a range where individual details are still a blur. That recognition is part of why set lines hold more value than unrelated white finishes.

If you are assembling a winter loadout, start with the head and the chest. Those two pieces are in frame more than anything else you wear.

Who Should Buy It

The vest comes in under $20 — solid middle ground for armour, above the throwaway camos and a long way below the collector masks. The live price is in the card above.

On LIS-SKINS it usually costs less than the Steam Market, because the Valve commission is not part of what you pay.

Set lines also hold their value more evenly than standalone finishes. People buy them as kits rather than one piece at a time, so demand for each part props up the others.

Where to Buy Whiteout Vest

Players on maps with a real snow biome who fight over the northern monuments. Up there white armour is a practical choice rather than decoration.

Players putting together a winter set who want their gear to look assembled instead of scraped together from unrelated purchases.

If you never leave the coast, there is nothing to gain here. A white chest piece in grass performs worse than any grey one.

On LIS-SKINS the finish is available from this page: Steam login, an offer, then payment by card, cryptocurrency or e-wallet.

The skin arrives in your Steam inventory and is applied to the jacket in game, either on craft or at a bench.

Selling it back works from the same place and pays out money you can withdraw rather than Steam balance.
