Team 9z, which includes players from Brazil and Uruguay, will be forced to miss the first South American RMR tournament – event called CSBC Elite League Season 1, starting April 22. The reason for this is simple: despite the fact that 9z qualified for the tournament, they did not have time to return from Europe in time for it, because due to restrictions on air travel related to the pandemic, they were unable to find a suitable flight.
Team captain Bruno "bit" Lima hoped that the team would have time to return to South America after participating in the European BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, but they were unable to find suitable flights that would allow them to return on time. This news turned out to be doubly unpleasant for the fans of the team, since now it is clearly in good shape: in particular, as part of the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, it managed to defeat Vitality.
Now the remaining free place in the tournament bracket will be transferred to the Furious team, led by Jonathan "JonY BoY" Muñoz. Previously, she took fifth place in qualifying. In her first match, she will meet MIBR as part of the qualifying stage, which will be played according to the Swiss system. Sixteen teams representing Brazil and Argentina will take part in the tournament, which will take place from April 22 to May 16.
