Earlier this month Dan “apEX” Madesclair, the in-game leader of the Vitality team, announced that he was going to take a break from performing. However, he will return to the active roster for the duration of the IEM Katowice tournament. The first match with his participation (Vitality vs. OG) took place this Thursday.
Dan Madesclair was benched when Vitality competed in the BLAST Premier group stage, shortly after the team was defeated by Complexity. The Vitality coach explained that the player needs time to deal with personal problems. The place of apEX was temporarily taken by Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom. However, the team also lost the next match. As a result, she ended up in last place in the group and dropped out of the competition. Now she will take part in the BLAST Spring Showdown.
With apEX returning to the main roster, it is expected that Nivera will continue to play in the same role he has held over the past three months, usually taking the place of one of the team members when playing on Dust2, Nuke or Inferno. Returning to the original line-up, Vitality hopes to show better results in Katowice than in previous tournaments, and to prove itself successfully at least in the group stage.
