Astralis will change its approach to using a six-person roaster

On the eve of the final stage of the IEM Katowice championship, Danish player Lukas “Bubzkji” Andersen spoke about what function he performed in its composition and how Astralis’ approach to the expanded roster has changed recently. At tournaments that took place in December and January, it was allowed to change one of the players during the match, and the team took advantage of this more than once, allowing Lucas to play instead of Andreas “Xyp9x” Hoysleta on the Nuke map.

However, Valve recently published the rules for holding RMR tournaments in 2021, and among them was a ban on substitutions during the match. Because of this, Astralis had to reconsider the very approach to forming a roster of six people.

The player commented on this as follows: “Due to the new restrictions that Valve introduced, we tried to come up with something new. The difference is that now I don’t have to limit myself to one map, but perform on several. We have some plans – perhaps not for IEM Katowice, but for subsequent tournaments… I think you will see that there is some work for me." Bubzki also mentioned that previously his position on the map was not entirely successful, but now his role in the game will change so that he can better express himself.
