Astralis will miss the next ranking tournament

Representatives of the Astralis team said that the team will miss the next regional ranked tournament, organized by Beyond the Summit. The competition is due to take place at the end of June. Kasper Hvidt, sporting director of Astralis, explained that this decision is due to the need to replace players.

After Lucas “gla1ve” Rossander and Andreas "Xyp9x" Hoyslet took a break from performing to regain strength and get rid of the symptoms of burnout, Astralis had to look for someone to replace them. However, for changing players on the roster, rating points are deducted, and as a result, the team would lose 960 of the 2,400 points that it has gained so far through victories in the StarLadder Major and ESL One: Road to Rio. Because of this, if they perform unsuccessfully in competitions, they risk losing more points than they earn. Kasper Hvidt explained that he sees no point in taking risks by participating in the tournament in such circumstances.

The competition, called cs_summit 6, will begin on June 22. The winner will be able to earn 2000 points. Currently, Astralis leads the European rankings, ahead of its closest competitor G2 by 720 points. The third RMR tournament, where teams will be able to improve their position the most, is scheduled for November.
