On Wednesday, the finalists of the Roobet Cup 2022 were determined, the final match of which will take place on June 30. They were FaZe and BIG.
In order to defeat Astralis in the semifinals, FaZe needed three maps. At first she lost to the Danes on their chosen Overpass, but then confidently won on Mirage and Dust2. On Overpass, the confrontation was almost equal at first, and at some point the score was 13 – 13. In this situation, Astralis managed to achieve an advantage in its favor. However, on Mirage the gap between the teams turned out to be more significant: by the middle of the map, FaZe was leading by 10 – 5 and was able to maintain this advantage after switching sides. Finally, on Dust2, FaZe's dominance became unconditional, and this map remained behind her with a score of 16 – 7.
German BIG, in turn, won against Cloud9 in their semi-final match. It is interesting that for the first time BIG defeated this Russian team, which now ranks fourth in the world rankings. Cloud9 recently took first place at IEM Dallas, but was unable to repeat this success at the Roobet Cup. To qualify for the finals, BIG only had to win two maps – Dust2 and Inferno.
Now BIG and FaZe will meet in the cup final, which will take place on the evening of June 30.
