Cloud9's former coach was caught using a coaching bug

Soham «valens» Choudhary, a former Cloud9 coach who now serves as the head of data science at Evil Geniuses, was caught using the “coach bug.” a few years ago. Information about this was published by the portal Dexetro.com. To date, three such cases are known. Two of them are similar to violations that other coaches have committed: Valens used a bug to monitor the movements of players during matches on the Inferno and Train maps. In both cases, the recordings show him moving the mouse, tracking the movements of the participants from the observer's position.

However, the most notable was the third case, in which a previously unmentioned version of the bug appeared. During a match against Liquid in the EPICENTER tournament, Soham was able to access a free-roaming observer camera while playing the Mirage card for one round. In his statement on this matter, Valens emphasizes that he encountered this bug several times without understanding its nature. He claims that he did not specifically seek to call him and did not share with the team any information obtained with his help.

Michal Slowinski, a sports referee and tournament administrator who played a key role in the investigation of the “coaching bug,” mentions that his version of free camera movement was also present in the materials provided by ESIC. According to the official website of the latter, the investigation related to the “training bug” has not yet been completed.
