The management of the Russian CS:GO team Hard Legion Esports decided to part ways with their coach after they were defeated by NAVI at the We Play Championship! Clutch Island and dropped out of the fight. Alexander “zoneR” Bogatyrev said that he was removed due to a conflict with the founder of Hard Legion, Alexander “HARDPLAY” Baranov.
In addition, zoneR mentions that he previously spoke critically about working in Hard Legion in a private conversation at an event where many representatives of the Russian esports scene were present. Comparing his current job with the DreamEaters team he coached before, he mentioned that they both are not much different from each other. In addition, certain organizational issues, such as holding bootcamps or providing players with uniforms, were resolved even better at DreamEaters. Alexander Bogatyrev suggests that his words were conveyed to the team management in a distorted form and caused a negative attitude towards him.
The formal reason for the dismissal was the fact that on the eve of the match with NAVI, Bogatyrev contacted Baranov to discuss some technical issues. As a result, zoneR was fined for “insubordination.” - appeal to the head of the organization, bypassing the immediate team leader. The ensuing conflict ended with a statement about the termination of cooperation.
