Cloud9 will suspend CS GO performances

Esports organization Cloud9 decided to suspend the performances of its Counter Strike roster after the team showed mediocre results for six months. This was announced by its director Jack Etienne. Commenting on this decision, he mentioned that its main reasons were the team's financial losses due to the coronavirus pandemic and the fact that it was never able to achieve high results. In particular, they were unable to implement their initial plans to assemble a team in North America, and remote training was not effective enough.

According to several commentators, the situation with Cloud9 confirms that a large budget is not enough to achieve success in the esports scene. In particular, Alexander "Enkanis" Polishchuk noted that although the players had good individual abilities, this was not enough to win major tournaments.

Cloud9 currently ranks 25th in the world rankings, and its highest ranking was 19th on this list. Now the entire roster will be put up for transfer. However, in the future Cloud9 plans to return to CS: GO, most likely with a North American roster.
