American Evil Geniuses, which currently brings together players from different countries, announced on Tuesday that Damien “daps” Steele will become her head coach. Thus, the Canadian e-sportsman will return to Counter Strike after a break that lasted more than six months.
In his Twitter, Damien wrote that he was glad to return to CS: GO and was ready to start working in a new team. Among the players he will coach — Vincent "Brehze" Kayonte and Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov, with whom he previously played on the same team.
Previously, daps served as an in-game leader for NRG for two years and made a significant contribution to the formation of the roster that was later signed by Evil Geniuses. Their highest achievement was fourth place in the world rankings and victories in two international tournaments. He later collaborated with Cloud9 and Gen.G for some time, but in 2020 he decided to switch to Valorant. Now daps will return to the game, to which he has already devoted eight years.
The main task of daps in the new post – try to better unlock the potential of the current squad, which has performed unsuccessfully in four of the last five tournaments. For the first time, Evil Geniuses will play under his leadership at the IEM Cologne Play-In, which will be held on July 6-7.
