The Danish team HYENAS announced at the end of the week that it would cease to exist, and its players will seek offers from other organizations on an individual basis. This happened the day after Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjarbier has decided to retire from professional Counter Strike. The team lasted only three months. It was created at the end of March, and then it included e-sportsmen who were free agents or were on reserve in other teams.
The team planned to enter into a contract with any of the existing e-sports organizations, but during this time they were unable to find support. They competed in several competitions, the largest of which was the Flashpoint 3 tournament. In it, the Danes took last place, losing to FunPlus Phoenix and Anonymo. At the same time, the team managed to perform well in lower level tournaments. HYENAS recently took second place at Funspark ULTI 2021 Europe, defeating Entropiq and K23.
After Kjarbier's departure, the remaining members of HYENAS will go their separate ways. Johannes "b0RUP" Borap plans to continue cooperation with Heroic, with whom he currently has a contract, and Philip “aizy” Aistrup, Niklas "gade" Gade and Frederick "Fessor" Sørensen will be looking for offers from other teams.
