device will move to NiP from Astralis.

The Swedish team NIP unexpectedly announced that Danish e-sportsman Nikolai "device" Reedz, who previously played for Astralis for five years, will now join them on a permanent basis. One of the most famous eSports players, who has repeatedly won victories at major tournaments, has now signed a three-year contract with NIP. In it he will take the place of Tim “nawwk” Jonasson.

Ridz has been part of Astralis since its inception in January 2016. He contributed greatly to the team's achievements between 2018 and 2020, when it became one of the world leaders and won numerous international titles. He also holds a record number of MVP awards and has been consistently ranked among the top five overall players for the past six years.

A few weeks ago, in an interview, he mentioned that some changes should be expected in his career, and now he spoke about the decision in more detail. He noted that it is difficult to part with Astralis, and this team will always be perceived as a family, but the pandemic forced him to rethink his career. Device mentioned that he is excited by the prospect of becoming a member of one of the promising young teams.
