Tournament organizer Eden Esports is launching a new tournament series called the Malta Vibes Knockout Series. Starting in August, it is planned to hold six competitions, in which a total prize pool of $300,000 will be awarded, as well as twelve certificates allowing the team to conduct a bootcamp in Malta. The first tournament will take place almost immediately after the end of the summer break – in the second half of August.
Malta Vibes will be part of the Elisa Champions of Champions tour, which also includes the Home Sweet Home, Elisa Invitational and Funspark series. Teams will receive points that will determine their place in the overall series ranking. Leaders will be able to take part in the final Champions of Champions championship, which will be held in 2022.
Each of the six Malta Vibes Knockout tournaments will feature $50,000 up for grabs. 32 teams will begin their path to victory in the single-elimination format, and another eight teams will receive direct invitations to higher positions in the tournament bracket. The organizers noted that they plan to attract teams from various regions of Europe and the CIS to participate. One of the leaders of Eden Esports, Sergei Bijan, noted that the series of tournaments will have several notable features, including a new format for competitions of this scale and a more even distribution of the prize fund.
