ESIC will involve the FBI in the match-fixing investigation

The ESIC organization, which monitors compliance with the principles of fair play in e-sports, will involve the FBI in investigating the situation with match fixing in CS: GO. It has been ongoing since last fall and involves two groups of suspects. Firstly, some players bet on their own matches when the opportunity presented itself, and secondly, some eSports players were bribed by “bookmaking syndicates”. and played fixed matches in accordance with a predetermined scheme.

The ESIC representative noted that the actions they are taking now – This is part of a larger investigation that will take some time. It is already known that several high-level players from North America were involved in match fixing on a regular basis. Also taking part in the investigation was the newly created FBI department, which deals with crimes related to the bookmaking business.

It is expected that the data obtained during the first stage of the investigation will be published in the near future – within two weeks. At the same time, ESIC notes that there is conclusive evidence against the players against whom charges will be brought.
