ESL announced a partnership with Network Next – a company that creates network solutions for eSports events. Over the past year, problems with unstable or slow connections have become especially noticeable for players, as it has been over twelve months since a major tournament has been held in a LAN format. To cope with this problem, at least to some extent, ESL decided to join forces with Network Next. Companies will work to create new technologies that will provide more comfortable conditions for players and improve the conduct of online competitions – primarily, events organized by ESL itself.
ESL spokesperson Trevor Schmidt commented on the partnership as follows: “Over the past year, the pandemic has radically changed the esports scene, with the number of simultaneous connections online increasing dramatically. We want our growing fanbase to enjoy the best possible gaming experience, and we believe Network Next will help us achieve that vision."
Network Next will take part in the next event as part of ESL Pro League Season 13. The developers will gradually integrate new network functions after ESL is convinced that they work stably.
