ESL plans to return to the LAN format in December

The CS:GO Professional Players Association (CSPAA) announced that it is working with major tournament organizers to create new protocols that allow offline events to be held safely during the pandemic. The rules will regulate foreign travel, the procedure for testing for coronavirus, and the interaction of players, media and site employees. In practice, these measures will come into effect in December, when ESL plans its second major LAN tournament of 2020.

CSPAA notes that returning to offline events under current circumstances poses additional health risks because they involve large numbers of people gathering in one place. Therefore, compliance with the new standards is especially important.

The IEM Global Challenge is scheduled for December 15-20, and other than that, no other major offline competitions have been announced yet. At the same time, it is known that several North American teams are planning a trip to Europe, likely in connection with the BLAST tournament. If Evil Geniuses, Liquid, 100 Thieves and MIBR can really come to the Old World, BLAST will hold the tournament without dividing into regional divisions. The organizers of Flashpoint – plan to do the same. Only those teams that will be in Europe at that time will participate in it.
