ESL has announced that IEM New York: Online will take place in October and will be the last major event for North America and CIS countries where teams can earn RMR points in 2020. In addition, the competition will have a separate European division in which players will compete for cash prizes, without the opportunity to increase their ranking.
In total, the prize fund will be $250,000, which will be distributed between three regions: European teams will compete for $140,000, American teams – $60,000, and representatives of the CIS countries – $50,000.
Twelve teams will take part in the divisions where you can get ranking points. Eight of them will receive direct invitations based on their current rankings, while the remaining four will be selected through qualifying matches, the dates of which are still unknown. Four teams from each division, following the leaders, will be invited to the closed qualifying games. Eight more teams will play in the European division. The invited teams from the CIS countries included Spirit, NAVI, Hard Legion, Gambit Youngsters and Espada. European participants will be announced in the coming days.
