On Sunday, Extra Salt won the finals of the DreamHack Open March North America tournament, thus taking first place. In the final match, the team convincingly won against paiN, without losing a single map, and became the owner of a $35,000 prize and the right to participate in the IEM Summer 2021 competition.
One of the Extra Salt players, Josh "oSee" Om became the most effective player of the event with a rating of 1.38 based on the results of ten cards. It is noteworthy that during the entire tournament Extra Salt lost only one map, leaving no chance for its opponent. In the final match, despite a tough fight and almost equal scores during each rally, the team managed to find a way to beat the enemy over and over again.
Aran "Sonic" Grözberg, another member of Extra Salt, noted in a post-match interview that now that they are firmly established as the top team in North America, they plan to start competing in Europe, at least for some time. Extra Salt will probably go to Europe soon: from April 19, the team should take part in the FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Final. It will also appear at DreamHack Masters Spring and IEM Summer in the coming months.
