Brazilian esportsman Gabriel "Fallen" Toledo returned to play after more than four months of inactivity. He resigned from MIBR in September due to disagreements with team management decisions and spent the rest of the year considering various career options. In January, Toledo joined the North American team Liquid. It is noteworthy that in the new team his role will change: if previously he, as a rule, took on the functions of an in-game leader, now he will be able to concentrate on his own game, while management functions will continue to be performed by Jake “Stewie2K” Yip.
In an interview with the HLTV portal, Gabriel Toledo said that the organization of interaction between players in the team made a great impression on him. He got the opportunity to share his experience and ideas already at the first training sessions.
Liquid started 2021 with a successful performance: in their first appearance at the Blast Premier Global Final, they defeated NAVI, beating their opponent on the Inferno and Nuke maps by a significant margin. Liquid will now face Vitality in the tournament's upper bracket, while Natus Vincere will soon play Complexity in an elimination match.
