Having defeated OG in the grand finals of IEM New York, the European team Faze became the leader of the tournament. This final match was unexpected for many, since it pitted teams that were not in the top ten in the world rankings – OG takes thirteenth place in it, and Faze – seventeenth. At the same time, Faze has not won a major competition since November last year, when the team won the BLAST Pro Series in Copenhagen.
