In the semi-final match of IEM Katowice, FaZe defeated Heroic on two maps. The team managed to achieve a significant advantage despite the fact that it had to replace one of the players from the main squad due to a positive test for coronavirus. Prior to this, in the quarterfinals, FaZe also won in two rounds against Gambit.
The first map of the match was Inferno, and on it FaZe seized the advantage from the very beginning, leaving virtually no opportunity for their opponents to defend and achieving an advantage of 10 – 2. Subsequently, the Danish team managed to level the game, but the map remained with FaZe with a final score of 16 – 11. On the second map (Nuke), FaZe’s advantage turned out to be unshakable, and its play ended even faster with a score of 16 – 5.
Thus, in the grand final, Finn's team "karrigan" Andersen will face G2 in a best-of-5 match on Sunday evening. Karrigan commented on FaZe's achievements at the tournament as follows: "This is the third time we have made it to the finals in Katowice and I can't wait to play in front of the crowd." tomorrow we will play against NiKo and one of us will win this trophy and I'm happy because we ended up in the finals with NiKo twice. I hope that tomorrow we will be able to engrave our name in the history of the tournament."
