European FaZe, which won the grand finals of ESL Pro League Season 15 at the end of last week, returned to first place in the world rankings, displacing NAVI from it. The team from the CIS remained at the top of the HLTV ratings for almost nine months.
For the current FaZe roster, this achievement marks an important milestone: after a 2021 full of problems, they were able to form a roster capable of winning big victories. Thus, the team becomes the leader of the rating for the first time in four years – in April 2018 it was displaced from this position by Astralis, which then dominated for a long time.
The success achieved in the ESL Pro League follows FaZe's stellar performance at IEM Katowice. At the same time, the team had to play several matches with Justin “jks” Savage as a replacement player due to the fact that first ropz and then Howard "rain" Nygaard tested positive for coronavirus.
Thus, having played three major tournaments with the participation of ropz, FaZe scored 869 points, which is 100 more than Natus Vincere. The latter still remains the leader in the achievement subcategory, but is inferior to the championship in the main ranking, as well as in the “Form” categories. and “Recent Events”. In total, Natus Vincere remained at the top for 37 weeks.
