fnatic and ENCE qualified for the main stage of IEM Katowice

Two more teams joined the list of teams that successfully passed the IEM Katowice play-in and secured a place in the main part of the tournament. They were fnatic and ENCE, who won on Wednesday in tense matches that required overtime to determine the winner. As a result, fnatic defeated BIG with a score of 2 – 1, and ENCE won against GODSENT with the same score.

BIG's match against fnatic was notable for the fact that Owen "smooya" Butterfield, now playing for the British team, played against his former teammates. Already on the first map (Ancient), the strengths of the participants turned out to be approximately equal, and as a result they had to play overtime after the score was 15 – 15. The drawing of this map ended in favor of fnatic, but on the next one (Vertigo), BIG became the winner by a small margin. Finally, on Overpass, fnatic finally proved that they were more deserving of victory, winning the map, and with it the entire match, with a score of 16 – 8.

The match between ENCE and GODSENT began with an overwhelming victory for the European team on Nuke (16 - 5), but then the Brazilians managed to level the situation. They were able to win Vertigo in overtime with a minimal margin, but on the decisive map (Mirage) ENCE again prevailed.

Teams such as OG, Astralis, FaZe, Copenhagen Flames, MOUZ and NIP have already secured their place at the main stage of the tournament.
