fnatic Rising won the fifth season of WePlay Academy League

In the fifth season of the WePlay Academy League, the title of leader went to fnatic Rising, which defeated Spirit Academy in the grand final. The fnatic youth team finished the group tournament with a score of 8 – 4, and then made it through the playoffs, losing only one map (in the match with Astralis Talent in the quarterfinals).

The victory of fnatic Rising opens a new era in WePlay Academy, as over the past four seasons, the various versions of the MOUZ NXT roster have remained the undisputed leaders. However, this time this team was eliminated at the group stage, ending up in fifth place in Group A with a win-loss ratio of 6 – 6.

This season of WePlay Academy was the debut for fnatic Rising coach Mikael "sheddaN" Mällström, who recently replaced Benjamin “cube” in this post. Stabella. In addition, Julian's place "regali" Harjau, who left for Copenhagen Flames, is now occupied by Filip "DEPRESHN" Yarkich. Despite these lineup changes, fnatic Rising started the group stage with six wins in a row, losing to Astralis Talent 16 to 10. Although the team suffered several more losses at this stage, they easily secured a place in the upper bracket of the playoffs.

In the final part of the tournament, the team performed almost flawlessly, leaving no chance for their opponents to even the score. The well-coordinated and effective play of fnatic Rising is evidenced by the fact that at the end of the tournament, all team members showed ratings greater than one, and Peppe “Peppzor” became the leaders. Borak and Mikkel "Maze" Spravat, for whom it was 1.20 and 1.18, respectively.
