The Russian team Gambit won the Pinnacle Cup, becoming the owner of the main prize of $80,000. The tournament was held online from March 4 to April 4. In the grand final, Gambit met with the Finnish HAVU and won with a score of 2: 1.
The Russian team dominated throughout the first map (Train), leaving it behind with a final score of 16 – 8. Gambit chose Mirage as the second map, on which they have never suffered a defeat in 2021. However, this time the circumstances were not in their favor, and the Finns gained the advantage. They were able to build an effective defense, and the first half of the game was theirs with a noticeable advantage (11 - 4). Gambit were unable to make up this difference in the second half. The fate of the match was decided on the Overpass map, which Gambit won with a score of 16 – 7 largely thanks to the efforts of Sergei “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov and Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov.
At first it seemed that HAVU had a good chance of winning, because at the previous stages of the tournament they were able to eliminate SAW, NiP and BIG from the game. However, in the final match, Gambit still turned out to be stronger and were able to add another trophy to their list of successful performances, of which there were already many in 2021.
