The 2024 CS2 competition schedule is divided into two seasons, the first of which runs from January to June, and the second – from July to December. In addition, 2024 will most likely be the last year when the tournament system exists in its usual form. Back in mid-2023, Valve announced that it wanted to make the tournament system more open. In practice, this means that large organizers such as ESL and BLAST will have to rethink their business models. However, in 2024 the competition will still continue in the same format.

First half of the year
- The beginning of the season was the qualifying games for CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024, which took place in January. The best teams based on the selection results will be able to get into regional tournaments, which will be held in March and will become a step on the way to the major.
- In addition, BLAST Premier Spring Groups is taking place on January 22-28, in which 12 partner teams will take part.
- The main event of February will be the famous tournament IEM Katowice. It will be held from January 31 to February 11 at the Spodek Arena stadium, and its prize fund will be $1 million.
- The BLAST Premier Spring Showdown will take place in early March. Unlike previous years, the tournament will not be divided by region. 16 teams from all over the world will meet in an online format.
- PGL Copenhagen Major 2024will take place in the second half of March. This tournament will be the first major to use the new version of the game. Participants will have to test first-hand how well the format changes work in a competitive environment.
- In April, the IEM China tournament will take place, the winner of which will be able to qualify for a place among the participants in IEM Cologne. The exact location of the event and details of its format are not yet known.
- Also in April, two tournaments of theESL – series will be held. ESL Challengerand Season 19 of the ESL Pro League.
- The main event of May will be IEM Dallas, which will take place at the end of the month. In addition, CCT Global Finals will be held in May – the final tournament of the series, in which tier-2 teams usually compete.
- In mid-June, the next tournament of the ESL Challenger series will take place in Jonkoping, Sweden.
- The final event of the season will be the BLAST Premier Spring Finals, which will take place at the Ovo Wembley Arena in London.
The second half year
- After the summer break, the new season will begin with the group stage of BLAST Premier Fall, which will take place in late July-early August.
- The main event of the summer will be the tournament IEM Cologne 2024, which will be held from August 7 to 18 in Cologne. 24 teams will compete for a prize pool of $1 million.
- Also in August there will be a BLAST Fall Showdown, the results of which will determine several participants in the final stage.
- BLAST Premier Fall Finals will be held from December 25 to 29 in Katowice, Poland.
- It will be followed by two tournaments ESL – the twentieth season of the ESL Pro League, which will be held for the third time in a row in Malta, and the American ESL Challenger Atlanta.
- The location of the IEM Fall, which is scheduled for October, is not yet known, but there is a possibility that it will be Australia.
- The central event of November will be the BLAST Premier Global Finals 2024. Its location has also not yet been announced, but there is a possibility that it will be one of the sites in the UAE, as has been the case in previous years.
- The first Asian CS2 major will end the year. The Perfect World Shanghai 2024 tournament will be held in China from December 1 to 15, and its prize pool will be the largest among all events this year – $1.25 million. An event of this magnitude is expected to be a step forward for the esports scene as a whole.
