After NIP left the BLAST Premier Final 2021, having suffered defeats from Astralis and Liquid, one of its participants Hampus “hampus” Poser gave an interview to HLTV, in which he shared his opinion about the team’s performance at the tournament and the problems it faces. BLAST Premier Fall Final was the first event where NIP appeared in a new lineup, which included Patrick “es3tag” Hansen.
The appearance of Hansen in the lineup allowed the players to more optimally distribute roles and structure the game, but hampus noted that the language barrier is still a problem. Es3tag has been training with NIP for about two weeks and has never spoken Swedish before. Therefore, sometimes he does not immediately understand the intentions of his teammates, especially in tense situations, mentally translates their words into English, and this delay of one or two seconds is enough to lose the round. Hampus suggested that at IEM Winter players will try to speak English at moments like this, and in the future es3tag will learn to speak Swedish more fluently.
Commenting on recent unsuccessful matches, the player mentioned that the loss to Astralis was the result of a series of individual mistakes due to the fact that the participants failed to get together and act in a coordinated manner. He hopes that by IEM Winter the team will be able to understand the reasons for what happened and find the right approach.
