Hunden will return to the Heroic lineup after his disqualification ends

Twenty-nine-year-old cybersportsman Nikolai “HUNDEN” Petersen will return to Danish team Heroic as coach from May 1st. On this day, the ban imposed on him by ESIC for using the “coach bug” expires. It is possible that he will take part in Heroic’s performances at DreamHack Masters Spring if the team successfully passes the first days of the group stage.

HUNDEN was suspended from competition for eight months due to the punishment imposed on him by the ESIC. In September 2020, a total of more than thirty coaches were banned for using a bug in Counter Strike to obtain information about the actions of their opponents. HUNDEN's sentence was reduced from ten to eight months due to his cooperation with ESIC in investigating the violations.

Erik Askered, a representative of Heroic, spoke about Petersen's return to the team as follows: “HUNDEN – our man. We've said this before and we'll say it again. He made a huge contribution not only to the development of Heroic, but also to the development of the professional scene as a whole. We all know that Nikolai made a big mistake and retreated from the values that we support. But he not only recognized it and accepted the punishment, but also made a lot of efforts to ensure that such cases would not be repeated in the future."
