On March 16, a youth player from NAVI was invited to play in FACEIT Pro League. The qualifying trials where players were selected to participate took place last weekend. Ilya “m0NESY» Osipov failed to rise to a position that would qualify him for entry into the league. However, the young player received an individual invitation.
Now Ilya Osipov is 14 years old. According to the head of FACEIT Milos Nedeljkovic, he is the youngest player ever invited, bypassing the normal selection procedure. Nedeljkovic commented on this decision, saying that one of the goals of the league is precisely to give emerging talent the opportunity to prove themselves.
Ilya Osipov became a member of NAVI Junior at the beginning of 2020. During this time, he participated in only one official match, and in that game the team was defeated. In the qualifying competitions FPL Ilya was in the lead at first, but in the end he ended up only sixth. The victory was won by another young player from NAVI Junior – Evgeniy "Aunkere" Karjat. He managed to beat his competitor, who took second place, by more than twenty points. However, the organizers of FACEIT Pro invited Ilya Osipov to also take part in the league.
