Four e-sportsmen who were part of Heroic during the period when Nikolay “HUNDEN” was its coach Petersen, recorded a video called “Our Story.” (“Our History”), in which they shared their point of view on these events. Three of them (cadiaN, stavn and TeSeS) still play for Heroic, and another one (b0RUP) currently plays in MAD Lions.
On Monday, ESIC issued a statement saying it had concluded its investigation into HUNDEN's comments, which claimed that other players were also aware of the coaching bug. As a result, ESIC decided that there was insufficient evidence to confirm the guilt of the remaining team members. She limited herself to only mild punishment against Nikolai “niko” Christensen, who previously admitted his guilt and probably did discuss the possible use of the cheat with HUNDEN.
Now the player will have to report monthly to an ESIC representative for six months. The leniency of the punishment is due to the fact that, as ESIC found, niko's psychological characteristics make him vulnerable to manipulation, which HUNDEN took advantage of, convincing the player that using a coaching bug was not a problem.
In a half-hour video, Heroic players said that the information about HUNDEN cheating was a big surprise for them, since he had never tried to break the rules before. That is why they did not immediately notice that HUNDEN and niko were using a cheat, and then did not immediately understand how to react correctly. Also in the video, the e-sportsmen spoke in more detail about other aspects of the conflict with HUNDEN, including accusations of transferring strategic information to another team.
