How to make a knife in CS:GO

If you have only recently become interested in the game and don’t know how to make a knife in CS GO, this information will definitely help. Although they are available from the start, like any firearm, by default you have to run with either a stock Recondo IV for special forces, or with a Persian blade for terrorists.

Another thing is that the rest of the skins in the game are not available. This means a free method of receiving. Cold steel — one of the rarest and most expensive in CS GO, especially collectible models like the Northern Forest butterfly knife, Tiger Tooth folding knife or the iconic M9 Bloody Web bayonet. And sometimes you want to hold a karambit, a butterfly and a huge hunting cleaver in your hands.

There are several options for how to make any knife in CS GO:

1. Inside the game, in the “search for community servers” tab register the WS (private server) command. Considering that they are often clogged, you can use an alternative;

2. Using third-party Internet resources, find a ready-made WS server, enter the “connect” command into the console and register the IP address of the server.

Existing types of knives

Today in CS GO there are a ton of melee weapons for absolutely every taste. And it’s all divided into 19 key categories, more on which later.

And with each update they add new items and skins. If you try to collect them all — There won’t be enough time, let alone money. And all your dreams of making a knife a spinner in CS GO will remain unfulfilled. Therefore, we will catch up at least in virtual mode. 

Fiddle around on private servers

If someone offers you to make a throwing knife in CS GO for free, insistently asking for your account login and password — You shouldn’t be provocative. There are at least 2 absolutely legal ways to indulge in skins, but for this you must fulfill one of the conditions:

• Go to a special WS server, where the admin initially specified the ability to use any weapon with any skin, even if it is not supported in the game. On some maps you can even look at models from the workshop, but you'll have to scour the Internet to find the appropriate IP to connect to the game.

• Create your own server with administrator rights (playing with bots) and use the console commands discussed below. 

Stages of connecting to WS servers

For a detailed inspection of non-existent (in your backpack) objects inside the game itself you will need:

Go to CS GO and click the “Play” button

• In the drop-down list at the top left, select “List of community servers” (a warning window will pop up that they are not controlled by Valve, but don’t pay attention to that);

• At the bottom right, enter the command “!WS” to filter out private servers that are needed in the future (in our case, in addition to WS, you also need !knife)

• Select any suitable server that meets the parameters and is not clogged with bots.

There are many such servers, and most of them are busy. In addition, there is often a chance of running into an inadequate person who will not allow you to properly view the gallery of knives. If you couldn’t find a good map — use an alternative method with third-party resources to search for WS servers like Gametracker:

• Find a suitable server on the Internet and copy its IP address;

• Enable the console in the developer settings to use an expanded set of commands;

• Open the console using the "Tilde" key (aka Yo), enter the command “Connect” and copy the previously found IP address.

This completes the preliminary preparation — you can move on.

When you get into the game on the desired map, everything is configured correctly and open, open the chat and enter the command “!WS” (without quotes) to get to the corresponding menu.

Using the "Next" buttons "Previous" (forward/back) scroll through the menu until you come across the name of the knife you need (the names are in English, so it is advisable to know the names of the bladed weapons in the original, and not the Russian translation).

And then you have a full set of skins at your disposal. At the same time, you are not limited to rigidly linking the design to a specific knife. Moreover, you can stick a non-existent skin on it just to imagine this picture in life. Many designers and artists practice similar techniques in order to create new original works in the future.

Here's an example of Glock-18 Cyrex, which in “wildlife” not noticed yet. But it looks interesting.

The main thing — Don’t make a mistake when choosing a server, and at the same time we recommend turning off the sound, because in 90% of cases the people you come across are very loud, and this is very annoying.

Inspecting knives in training mode

To make a butterfly knife in CS go, or any other cleaver — you need to know the console commands, of which there are a lot in the game. We have already written about turning on the console, now let’s move on to practical actions.

First of all, you need to write 2 commands:

• sv_cheats 1 — gives access to all other commands within the game;

• mp_drop+knife_enable 1 — allows the character to throw away the knife, which cannot be done normally.

Now in more detail about each type of knives. We won’t write down absolutely all the commands, because how can we describe the 19 types of cleavers — the task is long and thankless. Let's focus on the main ten: 

• karambit — give weapon_knife_karambit

• bayonet — give weapon_bayonet

• M9 bayonet — give weapon_knife_m9_bayonet

• butterfly — give weapon_knife_butterfly

• claw — give weapon_knife_widowmaker

• falchion — give weapon_knife_falchion

• stiletto — give weapon_knife_stiletto

• bear knife — give weapon_knife_ursus

• hunting knife — give weapon_knife_tactical

• folding knife — give weapon_knife_flip

All commands are entered via the console. This way we get access to the main texture. But therein lies the main drawback — You won't be able to view skins this way.

You can create your own server through resources like My Arena, but you will have to pay for this pleasure. And at the same time, master the skills of working with FTP clients like FileZila, have more or less powerful hardware and waste precious time. Therefore, it is better to limit yourself to WS servers, where everything is much simpler.
