Accuracy – This is a skill that is critical to success in CS:GO. If you are not a very good shooter, then excellent knowledge of the map or the ability to plan your actions will be of little use. On the contrary, thanks to accurate shooting you can save a round that is not going in your favor. You can improve your accuracy in several ways, which will be discussed further.
First of all, you need to understand that a player’s accuracy is made up of several individual skills, and you can work on improving them in different ways:
- Reaction time – the ability to quickly react to the appearance of an enemy and aim at him.
- Accuracy – the ability to aim precisely at an opponent and take a headshot.
- Reflexes – the ability to react without thinking and hit the enemy, even if you are caught by surprise, due to practiced skills and muscle memory.
Game Settings
For starters, you should take care of comfortable game settings. Go to the map to customize the sight and try different options for its shape and location. If you select the parameters taking into account your reaction speed and style of play, this will save you from unnecessary intermediate actions, which means it will allow you to react faster to the enemy’s movements. You can copy sight settings from famous players, but in any case, in order to find “your” option, you will need to spend some time selecting the most successful one.
Special cards
In the Steam Workshop you can find many cards to improve accuracy and reaction. Moreover, you won’t be able to get by with just one map, since exercises can cover various aspects of aiming. For example, on the map Training_aim_csgo2 is well suited for practicing reaction speed and the ability to take headshots: on it you need to shoot at small targets that quickly appear against the background of a wall.
The AimBotz map gives players more opportunities. If desired, you can place several bots on it and specify how they should move. A variety of settings allows you to use this map to practice different shooting techniques.
Among other maps that are worth paying attention to are Recoil Master (on it you can learn how the spray works for different types of weapons), FAST AIM/REFLEX MAP (here you need to shoot bots as quickly as possible), and a series of maps Yprac Practice and Warmup (in which including numerous exercises for practicing shooting and tracking the enemy, as well as guides to competitive maps).
Programs for training accuracy
In addition to special maps, there are also separate applications for training sights. Their main advantage compared to the cards described above – the ability to track your progress and receive detailed statistics, thanks to which it becomes clear which aspect needs to be worked on. Often, the free program AimLab is used for these purposes, but there are other solutions. We should not forget that practicing skills in training – These are useful, but they need to be able to be transferred to real game conditions. To do this, you should regularly play in the Deathmatch mode, not just trying to kill as many opponents as possible, but focusing on a more specific task, for example, using one type of weapon or shooting from a certain point. With regular training, after a couple of weeks, not only you, but also your teammates will notice the results, and your opponents will only be surprised at your speed.
