In the new Counter Strike, according to the developers, graphics, textures and lighting will be significantly improved, so it is understandable that gamers want to know what the system requirements are in CS GO 2 in order to decide whether they need to upgrade their computer or their existing one "iron" will be able to handle the game quite well.
Valve's guerrilla silence
Valve, of course, in its typical manner is silent, like a partisan under interrogation, so it has not provided any official information regarding system requirements. And, given that the release should take place in the next 3 months, apparently, the official system requirements will be published along with the release of the second part of Counter Strike.
The Kaeser community is not happy with this state of affairs. And rightly so, it doesn’t suit me. We need to understand at least approximately what awaits all of us. Therefore, enthusiasts who have access to the CS 2 beta or downloaded a pirated version tested various video cards, processors and RAM to determine the minimum, recommended and maximum system requirements for CS GO 2. Read more about these requirements and our upgrade recommendations.
Minimum

Let's start with the minimum requirements and here's why. Most kaesers do not have a cool, sophisticated computer with the latest models of video cards and processors and do not have the resources to buy them, but there is a completely understandable human desire to play the new CS 2.
So, first of all, update your Windows to “ten”, and DirectX to version 11. The game does not work on older versions of Windows.
The processor requires preferably an i5-10400F with 6 cores of 2.9 GHz from Intel. Together with an acceptable “vidyukha” and with RAM it will pull out FullHD at the lowest graphics quality settings. If not 10400F, then at least “high five” 4590. Worse processors may not be able to cope with the load and experience periodic freezes.
8 GB of RAM will be enough. no lower than DDR3. Ideally, immediately upgrade to DDR4.
Video card. At the minimum, you will need a GTX 950 or comparable characteristics (for NVIDIA), or a Radeon RX 470 or comparable (for AMD).
The hard drive must have 50 GB free. A regular hard drive will do, but if possible, it is better to buy an SSD.
Compliance with these minimum system requirements in CS GO 2 will allow you to maintain the required level of FPS and avoid freezes, but, of course, you will not see all the graphical beauties.
Recommended

At this level you will get the opportunity to enjoy a smooth game along with some special effects, available on the Source 2 engine. FPS will not fall below 60, but, as a rule, will be higher, only during certain moments (many smokes and explosions at the same time) it will drop to 60. On the hardware, which we will write about below, you can play even at 2K resolution. In principle, this is a compromise option, a kind of golden mean, the most optimal price-quality ratio, which can suit the vast majority of kaeserov.
So, let's start, as always, with Windows. Here you will need the good old “ten” (better version 11) and 11 DirectX.
Processor. Need a "high five" 13400 with 10 cores at 2.5 GHz. From AMD, the Ryzen 5 1600 is suitable. It is possible, of course, even cooler, but it all depends on the thickness of your wallet.
The RAM will require at least 12 GB, preferably 16 GB, and no less than DDR3.
It will also be nice if your device is equipped with a 6 GB video card, for example, GTX 1060. At the extreme case, a 4 GB GTX 1650 will do. Among the Radeon family, the RX 580 will be able to support the recommended system requirements in CS GO 2.
The HDD should have 50 GB unoccupied.
High

We are slowly raising the bar. A computer that meets the requirements described below will easily handle a high frame rate, which will make movements smooth, without jerking. And all this will be possible in 2K and 1080p resolution. If your monitor is equipped with a high-speed matrix, then positive changes will be noticeable, as they say, with the naked eye. For reference: high-speed matrices extend the frequency to 120 Hz. You can even run 4K at these requirements, but keep in mind that at maximum settings there will definitely be freezes or insufficient smoothness. In this case, you will have to play a little with the settings to choose the most suitable ones.
So, the system requirements in CS GO 2 are considered high if:
The computer has the latest Windows 11 with the latest version of DirectX.
The amount of video memory on the Vidyukha is - no less than 12 GB. For example, the RTX 4070 from NVIDIA has such characteristics.
Your device is equipped with 16 GB of RAM, and DDR4 is already needed here.
The computer has a processor from the i7 series with 16 cores at 2.1 GHz, for example, 13700 or something similar from AMD.
On the disk there is a free 50 GB, and the disk, of course, is not an ordinary one, but an SSD.
Maximum

The hardware, which will be discussed below, is enough not only for a super comfortable game, but also for streaming. Of course, if you have your own YouTube channel on Counter Strike, then you will be able to record high-quality videos without any problems, because the gameplay will be super smooth, the textures will be super clear, and the controls will be super responsive.
On FullHD monitors, most likely, there will be no drop in FPS, even if you turn all the settings to the maximum. But we can’t say the same about 4K monitors, but here’s what we can say absolutely for sure: even on 4K, the FPS will not fall below 60 and is unlikely to even come close to this value.
So, what are the maximum system requirements in CS GO 2, at which the game turns into complete delight?
Firstly, The latest Windows 11 with the latest version of DirectX is required.
Secondly, stock up on maximum RAM. In fact, the main difference between high and maximum requirements is precisely the amount of RAM. You will need at least 32GB. on DDR4.
Thirdly, “vidyukha” for 12GB, for example, RTX 4070 Ti.
Fourth, a processor from the “ai seven” series, for example, 13700K with 16 cores, each with 3.4 GHz.
Fifthly, an SSD is required, without options, where there are 50 free gigabyte.
Hardware testing results (video cards)
First of all, we’ll tell you about the results of testing “video cards”. according to the system requirements in CS GO 2 on FPS at 3 different screen resolutions (graphics settings are turned up to maximum everywhere):
FullHD (size 1920x1080).
2K (size 2560x1440).
4K (size 3840x2160).
So, on full HD, 3 prizes are occupied by the RTX 4090 series Geforce with 24 GB. (gives an average FPS of 356, minimum 326), RTX 4080 series GeForce with 16 GB. (gives an average FPS of 356, minimum 326), RX 7900 XTX Radeon series 24 GB. (gives an average FPS of 324, minimum 289).
At 2K, 3 prizes are occupied by the RTX 4090 with 24 GB. (gives an average FPS of 356, minimum 263), RX 7900 XTX 24 GB. (gives an average FPS of 324, minimum 263) and RTX 4080 with 16 GB. (gives an average FPS of 356, minimum 202).
At 4K, 3 prizes are occupied by the RTX 4090 with 24 GB. (gives an average FPS of 297, minimum 132), RX 7900 XTX 24 GB. (gives an average FPS of 211, minimum 118) and RTX 4080 with 16 GB. (gives an average FPS of 216, minimum 103).
The second point that you want to know is the amount of load on the video card at different screen resolutions with maximum graphics settings.
For FullHD you need at least 4 GB. on Vidyukha;
On 2K - at least 6 GB;
On 4K - at least 8 GB.
Hardware testing results (processors and RAM)
System requirements in CS GO 2, of course, cooler than the old Counter Strike, but, fortunately, not so much that you need a super-sophisticated processor to play the game. For a smooth game and no problems with freezes, it is advisable to buy an i5 with 6-8 cores or a similar percentage from AMD. In this case, hemorrhoids with FPS will definitely not occur.
There is good news. In order to squeeze out 60 FPS, a budget “ai three” is quite enough. 13100, for example. The main thing is that you need a video card with at least 4 GB. and RAM of at least 16 GB. on DDR4. In this combination of “hardware” a video card and RAM offset the shortcomings of a weak processor.
New Counter Strike really likes to take away RAM resources for itself. Moreover, this is an argument tested in tests.
So, at a particular moment in time at maximum settings at any screen resolution, the game “consumes” 1.5 times more RAM in volume than video memory. The amount of RAM used starts at 8.5 GB. and ends with 11 GB. Please note that during the test the game did not lack video memory, and, in addition, all other programs that were potential resource consumers were closed. So buy additional RAM up to 16 GB, if you don’t have enough of it, and it’s better to go straight to DDR4.
